A natural river archipelago in the heart of Bosanska Krupa. Wooden pedestrian bridges connect wooded islets over the emerald water of the Una — an ecological paradise that won the international Green Destinations Award in 2023.

Fly Fishing Una & Krušnica —
spoken of in reverent tones

The Una and Krušnica rivers are spoken of in reverent tones among serious fly fishers across Europe. Huchen (Danube salmon) reaching 30 kilograms. Wild brown trout and grayling in water so transparent the fish seem to float in glass.

Sight fishing on the Krušnica is a particular discipline: you select a specific fish, observe its behaviour, choose your fly, and place it with precision. The season opens on March 1st. Strictly regulated, permit-required, and guided by local experts who know every run and riffle.

The International Tourist Una Rafting Regatta is one of Bosnia's greatest outdoor spectacles. The descent runs from Martin Brod, through the roaring Štrbački Buk waterfalls — a UNESCO-listed natural monument — down through the canyon to Bosanska Krupa. Class III and IV rapids. Bridge jumps. Riverside camps with live music and traditional Bosnian hospitality by night.

Local operators (Una Kamp, Una Aqua, Unatoure) run fully guided descents for all experience levels. Hamam Kozarice is the only five-star private base on the route — where you come to rest, recover, and do it all again tomorrow.

The Krušnica spring emerges directly from the depths of karst rock formations — turquoise water appearing from solid stone, as if from another world. Professional diving expeditions have descended beyond 112 metres without finding the floor.

It has become a pilgrimage site for the world's technical diving community. For those who don't dive: the visual spectacle of turquoise water materialising from rock is genuinely difficult to describe. One of those things that makes you wonder what else this part of the world is keeping quiet about.

Above Bosanska Krupa, on a promontory commanding the river canyon, stands the medieval Pset Fortress — a stone structure that has watched the rise and fall of empires and civilisations without being particularly moved by any of them.

Today it is accessible to visitors and offers one of the most dramatic panoramic views in the entire USK Canton: the town below, the Una threading through its canyon, and the green slopes of Grmeč in the distance.
